This full time, hands on leadership role involves managing staff, horses, facilities and finances while supporting high profile ceremonial duties and a busy civilian riding and training programme, all from an outstanding Windsor Great Park setting.
Reporting to: The Board of the Light Cavalry
Key Responsibilities
• Yard management, bookings, financial administration and reporting
• Coordination of vets, farriers and specialist suppliers
• Leadership, mentoring and appraisal of grooms
• Horse welfare, training and emergency readiness (up to 12 horses)
• Facilities and equipment management, liaising with The Crown Estate and Guards Polo Club
• Supporting ceremonial and military equitation duties
• Delivering instruction, organising coaching and supporting shows/events
• Communications with Supporting Riders, including website and social media
• Compliance with health safety, safeguarding, licensing and animal welfare law
• Acting as Safeguarding Officer and maintaining BHS accreditation
Essential (Minimum) Experience Qualifications
• Experience at Head Groom level or above
• Proven team leadership and staff management experience
• BHS Stage 3 Care Lunge and BHS Stage 2 Teach (or equivalent recognised coaching qualifications)
• Riding ability to BHS Stage 3 (or equivalent)
• Competence with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and accounting systems
• Safeguarding / child protection training (or willingness to undertake)
• Willingness and ability to carry out manual yard work outdoors year round
Desirable
• Yard/centre management experience; risk assessment and H S management
• BHS Stage 3 Complete Coach or Stage 4 BHS
• Website and social media management; Xero; ECPro
• Business or finance management experience ​

I am seeking a wonderful mother’s help/groom, to run our small family yard and assist with running/organizing the household.
On the domestic side, someone who can combine yard work with excellent housekeeping skills and household management is the most likely candidate to succeed in this position.

The yard on our Cotswold’s farm includes two nice event horses, so a competent rider required. Excellent stables, grazing etc. Flat work, hacking, and helping my two teenage daughters with their riding is important. Ability to drive is a must. We have excellent hacking and schooling facilities. Must be a self-starter, very organised and love running a smooth operation.

Mondays – Saturdays inclusive (usually a half day).

Excellent salary for the right candidate.

We are looking for someone to join our small, friendly and professional Eventing team as an extra pair of hands over the summer, and possibly beyond. We have horses ranging from 4yrs to Advanced, and need someone who already has experience working with competition horses and has their own horse they would like to bring. Coaching is available with experienced 5 star rider Charlotte, using our wonderful facilities which include a 70m x 40m outdoor school with jumps, lunge pen and a large Dressage/ jumping area on grass. We have great hacking and hills for fitness work.

On site accommodation is provided on our beautiful farm. This would be a great opportunity for someone who loves Eventing, as you will gain an insight into how a top yard runs, and have help with your own horse. This is for a professional horse person with an understanding of client satisfaction and delivery of quality services with the care and attention of the horses welfare paramount.
You must be a capable rider and understand how to school a horse on the flat, take direction and follow instruction.
This is a long term position with many opportunities for furthering qualifications and competing if so desired.
