    •All aspects of yard work duties including; feed, hay, muck out, turn out, groom, clip and bandage
    •Keep the stables, horses and all equipment looking immaculate at all times
    •Schooling horses to keep them well trained and exercised daily-Must be an experienced rider
    •Prepare them for guests to ride
    •Escorting hacks around the estate both on foot or riding
    •Welcoming guests in a polite and friendly manner
    •Fitting guests with safety equipment before riding
    •Teaching guests of the hotel and local clients on our ponies and horses with knowledge, enthusiasm and care for safety at all times (once trained)

    Training is with BHS Stage 5 and KEITS/HADDON. Would suit someone wishing to also do BHS Stage exams -Free uniform and meals

    Weekend work is required

    As a Horse Rehabilitation Trainer and Behaviour Advisor, you are responsible for expertly managing a specific number of horse cases within the horse care service, working alongside other team members.Ā  You will ensure welfare standards are met and the assessment, training and rehabilitation of the horses preparing for a new home is completed in the quickest amount of time. You will work with other members of the team to plan for new intakes of horses and keep on track with optimum numbers of horses in training/care. You will play a vital role in supporting horses at every stage of their journey — on site, in foster care, and beyond adoptionĀ

    No two days will ever be the same. One day you might be guiding an owner through a virtual behaviour consultation, the next delivering engaging team training, supporting a complex case on site, or representing Blue Cross in the media to champion horse welfare and rehoming. This is a role for someone who enjoys being at the heart of change, learning constantly, and sharing their expertise widely.Ā

    You will play a key role in uplifting the horse behaviour and training capability within the rehoming team, coaching and empowering colleagues to work with and handle horses to the highest possible standards, ensuring that each interaction is informed by best practice, evidence-based behaviour knowledge and expertise.Ā  Ā

    You will also work as part of a team to provide excellent customer service, showcasing and promoting Blue Cross horses and ponies to maximise their rehoming opportunities. Ā

    • Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) standard of Animal Training Instructor (ATI) Equine Training Instructor Pathway, equivalent or working towardsĀ 
    • Relevant experience and knowledge of horse behaviour and training techniques, including evidence of success in understanding horse behaviour / training problems Ā 
    • Extensive experience of carrying out behaviour and training programmes for horsesĀ 
    • Experience of developing training programmes, and delivering to team members, owners or caregivers, that are practical and realistic for a horse owner or team member to understand and undertake independentlyĀ 
    • Demonstrable knowledge of equine veterinary care and experience of working with equine vets to treat horses with behaviour problemsĀ

I am around most of the time but away 1-2 days a week so you must be capable of hacking out and lunging fit horses. We have a recently refurbished 2 bed accommodation. Car owner essential. 5.5 days per week with Sunday off (unless competing in which case a day in lieu will be given) and a half day mid week to be arranged in advance. Present employee has been here for 3 years and is leaving to join the fire service! ​

    The Equestrian Yard Co-ordinator is responsible for the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the yard, ensuring the highest standards of horse care, team coordination, and student support.

    This role oversees the management of approximately 28 riding school horses and 30 student livery horses during term time, while leading a team of grooms and working collaboratively with senior staff.

    Key Responsibilities:
    -Horse Management Welfare
    -Oversee the daily care and routines of all horses on site, ensuring high standards at all times.
    -Prepare and oversee feeding routines.
    -Manage supplies and stock levels.
    – Organise and supervise the timely tacking up of horses.
    -Act as first point of call for minor injuries or health concerns, administering basic treatment as required.
    -Liaise with senior staff and external professionals (e.g. vets, farriers).

    Yard Operations:
    -Manage daily yard routines to ensure efficiency and consistency
    -Conduct field checks and oversee horse rotation and field management
    -Maintain yard organisation, cleanliness, and safety standards

    Team Leadership:
