Forever Hounds Trust is seeking an experienced and passionate Sighthound Welfare, Kennels and Homing Manager to lead the welfare, rehabilitation and rehoming of greyhounds, lurchers and other sighthounds in our care.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable dogs. You will oversee every stage of a dog’s journey, from intake and assessment through rehabilitation and kennelling to successful adoption into a loving home.
Working closely with our dedicated team, volunteers, foster carers, adopters and veterinary professionals, you will help ensure that every dog receives the highest standards of care and the best possible chance of finding their forever home.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the intake, assessment and welfare planning of dogs entering our care.
- Overseeing kennel operations and ensuring exceptional welfare standards.
- Managing behavioural assessments and rehabilitation programmes.
- Supporting and developing a team of Sighthound Carers, Rehabilitation Trainers and welfare staff.
- Leading the rehoming process, ensuring dogs are matched to the most suitable homes.
- Working closely with veterinary practices and welfare partners.
- Monitoring welfare outcomes and driving continuous improvement.
- Representing Forever Hounds Trust professionally with adopters, supporters and stakeholders.
About You
You will be an experienced animal welfare professional with:
- Strong knowledge of canine behaviour and welfare.
- Experience working with dogs in a rescue, kennel or welfare setting.
- Experience of behavioural assessment and rehabilitation planning.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- A compassionate, professional and resilient approach.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Experience of working with greyhounds, lurchers or other sighthounds would be highly advantageous.
