Job Location: This role will involve regular travel mostly within the Central Scotland area and sometimes to wider locations within Scotland. There may be occasional UK travel and overnight stays.

Salary: £25,000 per annum

Hours: Full time – 35 hours per week

Job Description:

You’ll play a vital role within the training team, training assistance dogs to a high standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist with the young dogs in training, before they are matched with their veteran, working with the training team and volunteers.
  • Assist with training for veterans and their matched dogs in group and 1:1 sessions.
  • Where possible to board dogs in training as required and assist with their training.
  • Ensure excellent record keeping and the monitoring of records for dog welfare, training and assessments are up to date and implemented in accordance with BRAVEHOUND’s Database record keeping procedure.
  • Help with tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the BRAVEHOUND Programme, this may include taking dogs to the vets.
  • Attend and help at events, promoting BRAVEHOUND.

  • A positive and proactive attitude and willingness to work with veterans, staff and volunteers.
  • Hard working, enthusiastic and a team player.
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Demonstratable in-depth knowledge of dog training and welfare.
  • Ability to handle and train dogs at all stages, using positive and reward-based training methods.
  • Good self-motivation, discipline and initiative.
  • ICT skills, Microsoft Office, email, internet etc.
  • Full, clean manual UK driving licence and confident driving a variety of vehicles
