Foal Farm is an independent animal rescue based in Biggin Hill. We are a registered charity and each year we rehome around 500 abandoned, abused and neglected dogs, cats and small animals. We also provide permanent sanctuary for up to 150 farm animals.

Hours: 16 hours / 4 mornings, 9am – 1pm

Contract: 6 Months FTC

Overall Objectives of the Role

  • To care for our animals including all aspects of cleaning, feeding and enrichment
  • Staying informed of developments relevant to the animals in your care
  • Being observant of the welfare and behaviour of all animals in our care
  • Helping with rehoming the animals in our care
  • Working across all four of our animal teams (dogs, cats, large animals and small animals)

This job description is intended to be an outline of the duties and responsibilities for this role. You may be expected to undertake other duties and some degree of flexibility is required.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Genuine compassion for animals and an understanding of our mission and ethos regarding animal welfare.
  • Comfortable working with animals.
  • A minimum level of fitness due to the physically demanding nature of the role.
  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in animal care.
  • Experience with caring for and rehoming rescued animals.
  • Charity awareness.
